#InTheNews: Ariel Castro Dead, Currently Dying A Thousand Deaths

Words by Chan Bam

The infamous Ariel Castro, who was brought to justice last month, was found dead in his cell yesterday. He allegedly hung himself.

Castro was given a life sentence, stacked on top of 1,000 years in prison, for the kidnapping and raping of 3 women – holding them captive in his Cleveland home for over a decade. If you recall, late this spring, one of the women broke loose and found refuge in the now infamous Charles Ramsey – who made the 911 call.

Castro pleaded guilty to 937 counts, including murder and kidnapping – all to have the death penalty removed from the table. But clearly, he had his own death penalty in mind. During the time of his hanging, he was isolated from other cellmates, for his own safety. But while he was in protective custody, he was not on suicide watch. So somewhere in between the 30 minute check-in times, Ariel allegedly hung himself in his cell.

The man who took over a decade from the lives of three women, couldn’t stand his punishment for a mere 90 days. Coward doesn’t even begin to describe this man.

According to the report, the prison medical staff did perform CPR prior to him being moved to a hospital, but they’d been too late. #AwDamn On the day of sentencing, Castro was quoted saying to the judge, “I’m not a monster. I’m sick” #GTFOH

While it’s great the women are now free and safe, it sucks that the man who tortured them couldn’t even serve his just sentence.
I’m sure the bowels of hell found a nice place for him.

“A coward dies a thousand deaths, a soldeir dies but once.” ~ William Shakespeare
