Words by Chan Bam

After serving 5 years as one of the nation’s most influential Black non-profit organizations, Benjamin Jealous will no longer serve as the NAACP’s president as of December 31st.Jealous says it keeps him away much too much from his family #FamilyFirst
During his occupancy he’s led peaceful protests for Trayvon Martin and many other significant cases. He’s even grown the contributor base from 16k to over 100k and doubled the revenue in a 4 year span – quite the accomplishment!
In an interview with USA Today, Jealous says, “Leadership knows when to step up and when to step down. This day I can say with pride that I’m prepared to step down and make room for the next person who will lead this organization to its next chapter.”
There was no mention of who the proceeding president will be, but whomever steps in to take his place has HUGE shoes to fill!
